Other translation services

Translation corrections, stylistic alterations and text correction.
1.1 Text correction by native speakers.
Besides our normal translating service, we carry out stylistic alterations and provide corrections of translations by native speakers. This is especially recommended for texts for the eyes of other native speakers of the given language and which are of a publicity or festive nature, e.g. web pages, annual reports, newspaper articles and manuals for household items, etc.
Prices for correction by a native speaker (1 standard page = 1800 characters) if text was translated by H&H 200,-- CZK.

Texts not translated by H&H: 300,-- CZK and more.
(Prices vary according to each individual translation and the extent of correction deemed necessary by the native speaker). Prices not including 19 % VAT.
1.2. Correction of translations by Czech translator.
The inspection, revision or correction of a translation (from a foreign language into Czech or vice versa) is available if a client comes to us with a translation undertaken by another agency but is dubious of its accuracy. Poor quality translations are unfortunately all too common. Sections of text are missing (overlooked by the translator, or even completely left out due to the incompetence of the translator); the translation does not correspond with the original; the translator has used unsuitable vocabulary; there are grammatical and/or stylistic errors, spelling or typing errors.
Please include a copy of the original text when submitting a translation for correction. Upon request, we can provide a critical summary of errors occurring in the original translation. Price for correction / revision (for 1 standard page = 1800 characters): 200,-- to 300,-- CZK. (Prices vary according to each individual translation and the extent of correction deemed necessary). Prices not including 19 % VAT.
1.3. Correction of Czech texts.
Besides foreign language texts, we also edit texts in Czech. This involves standard corrections of Czech texts in order to remove grammatical errors (spelling, punctuation and capital letters, etc.) and stylistic inaccuracies.
Such an examination is, in our experience, required for 95% of all texts we come across, not including newspapers, magazines and books. Unfortunately, the great majority of such texts do not receive this treatment.
The linguistic revision of Czech texts is especially recommended for all texts aimed at a wide audience of readers/clients. There is nothing worse than finding glaring errors in luxury catalogues printed on expensive paper or on otherwise graphically and informatively perfect web pages, not to speak of everyday advertising.
Price for correction of Czech text (one standard page = 1800 characters): 200,-- CZK.
2. Legalized translations.
Legalized translations or official documents for translation are translations with the seal of an official translator authorized by the regional court. The translation in paper form and the original text are bound together with the translator's stamp and an annex confirming that the translation and original are consistent. The translator is duty bound to return all parts of the original text including a stamp from a notary public confirming the authenticity of the copy, etc., simultaneously maintaining the original lay out of the original document, for which reason the resulting translation may appear to be more extensive than the original document.
Legalized translations may only exist in written form.
Such written form is required by law for translations of documents, e.g. certificates, trade licenses, extracts from the Companies Register. The original is never given for such translation, only a copy certified by a notary public. Legalized translations in written form are also required for other binding documents such as contracts, declarations, etc.
Price for one actual page (on paper) of the resulting translation: 360,-- CZK.
Prices not including VAT 19 %.
Legal authentication of existing translations:
In exceptional circumstances an existing translation may be used. The official translator checks and, if necessary, corrects the translation, after which the translation is bound together with the original, sealed and stamped.
Price for legal authentication of translations per standard page (one standard page = 1800 characters) of text: 250,-- CZK to 400,-- CZK, + VAT (19 %). The price varies according to the number of corrections made by the official translator.
